Conclusion

Assignment was challenging and interesting because I got so much new experience. So far I think I did use all tools required for the assignment, however not sure about beauty of my work, because I am more technical person that art. Art, paint, compare colors and similar things is not my field where I could understand a lot.

Adobe Photoshop CS6

Adobe Photoshop it is not difficult to learn, because of great user interface. After this assignment I did learn how works graphical editors, how use effects and layers with masks. Photoshop is the program which I am always wanted to try and learn a bit more. The technical way Photoshop is quit similar to other graphical editors for example Pain.net which using layers and basic effects comparing to Photoshop, so experience and knowledge I did gain will be useful to understand different graphical editors, just will need to get use to different user interfaces. Photoshop self as a program in graphical editor field is super powerful, having so many tool and effects. Working as designer for me would be very useful to learn Photoshop to the background, but my way is a programmer, so basic experience will be useful in the future.

My opinion DVD paper sleeve, Amaray style, which I created for the assignment overall is not bad, but however next time couple things I would do differently. For example color mach could be more professional, because red and yellow color on some of shapes do not look very good and matching. Second thing is that in some places too much empty spaces, so could enlarge some objects or just add interesting information. The title of the film was challenging to do, but all effects is difficult to see, because to slip font are chosen, so next time using same type of effects I would choose bigger fonts and letters.

Adobe Illustrator CS6

The Adobe Illustrator is very powerful graphical and vector designing software. It is very useful for creating object from the scratch, using shapes, vectors and effects. The similar software would be "Corel Draw", which I was using some years ago, but it is not so popular as Adobe Illustrator. The similarity is that in the "Corel Draw" and in the "Adobe Illustrator" used vector based shapes instead of bitmaps. Adobe Illustrator is very good for creating company logo types, adding effects or frames for images, creating projects from the background.

Doing assignment DVD label with "Illustrator", I did gain a lot of experience in it. "Illustrator" user interface now is understandable for me. I do understand how effect works, combining them with shapes and colors. The different things could be done on my assignment is: logo type could have text font different with more effects, DVD label background could be not just one color, but could have more shapes and effects.

Adobe Premier

The "Adobe Premier" is very powerful video editing program, however I think is not so super powerful as "Adobe Photoshop" or "Adobe Illustrator". The most exiting part of the assignment was to work with video editing program, because I am never had a chance to do it before. I did learn a lot of stuff for the future basic editing on videos, like effect "Ultra Key".

Next time if I would do similar project as I did on my assignment, I would choose better quality video and will add company big logo after green screen at the beginning.
